Maternity Client Closet
You probably know that we have a massive client closet for the babies and little ones who come into the studio, and you might even know about our (even BIGGER) boudoir client closet, but did you know that we also have a client closet for maternity sessions as well?!
Read on to learn more about this closet, and see some of our favorite pieces!
I mean, think about it- not everyone wants to buy one (much less multiple) dresses that they may NEVER wear again! I say this as my wedding dress is shoved into the back of a closet… so I get it. Even if you plan on having more children, who’s to say you’ll want to wear the same dress again? Maternity sessions are such a beautiful and special way to celebrate the new life you’re bringing into your family, but adding something like finding the perfect dress or dresses for a session can add unnecessary stress. And you already have enough on your plate just growing your baby, dealing with your body’s changes, and having those constant thoughts of
“Are they moving enough?”
“Is that pain normal or something else?”
“I really REALLY want a fried chicken sandwich but I’ve already had 3 this week.”
“Did I forget to take my prenatals?”
“Am I eating enough or too much?”
“When is my next doctor’s appointment?”
And the list goes on for what seems like forever. Basically what I’m saying is that you shouldn’t have to add “I need to find maternity dresses for my session” onto that! This is why we decided to create a maternity client closet as well.
We’ve really built our maternity closet over the past few years- all of the photos you see (and many others not pictured here) are our dresses! Several of them came from donations from other clients, but we have grown most of our collection by doing one of our favorite things- shopping! We’ve found some absolutely incredible retailers that have the best quality dresses in so many gorgeous styles, Chicaboo, Baltic Born, Amazon, and Pink Blush Maternity being some of our go-to shops. We also LOVE shopping on resale sites like Poshmark! Here are some of our favorites-
One of the great things about a lot of our dresses is that they come with the tops and bottoms in 2 separate pieces, meaning you can mix and match to create something a bit different! Being able to switch things up gives us even more variety in our dresses. We can also play with the length of the skirt as well! Some of our skirts can be fitted with a lot of extra material at the bottom for those beautiful silhouette-fluttery dress shots, but we can also pull that skirt up higher so it’s not fitted and more flowy! There can be so much variety with one dress, and we love playing around and trying new things to help create something absolutely perfect for you and your session.
