Whether you have children or not, I’m sure that you know that they grow up all too quickly. It seems like one day, they’re this tiny little newborn who’s reliant on you for everything. Then, they learn to use a fork. Then they start school. Then they graduate. In the blink of an eye, they go from just days old to an adult and you’re left wondering where all the time went.

Watching my boys grow into the people they are becoming is probably the most rewarding part of my life, but it’s one of the saddest too.

Parenthood is so bittersweet. Each milestone feels like such an accomplishment, but then you realize that they’re one step closer to being grown that you get a pang of sadness in your heart. You’re proud that they’re becoming independent, but sad that they don’t need you in the same ways anymore.

That is a huge reason why we put so much focus towards capturing those authentic moments of your children’s lives! They are growing and changing every single day, and we want to make sure that we are able to create beautiful mementos for you. My personal family photos are something that I hold so dearly in my heart, so I know just how important they are. Being able to document your lives throughout your lives is irreplaceable.

The Whisper Photo Co. style of photography is very candid-oriented, allowing us to photograph true love and happiness between people. Of course we still get some classically posed family photos, but the candids are where that undoubtable love truly shines! Running around with your kids, dancing, and tickling them is a foolproof way to capture those real smiles.

We also suggest bringing toys, snacks, or anything else that may help your kids come out of their shell! It’s sometimes hard for them to understand why there’s this random person following them around a park and taking their photos. And I totally get it! Even as a photographer, I still sometimes feel those nerves getting my picture taken. But then, once your kids start playing and having fun, that’s when the magic happens. It’s amazing to watch a child go from nervous and shy, to laughing and dancing and just having the time of their life.

Aside from photos, we have recently started offering VIDEO for your family sessions as well! Hearing those giggles, watching your children laugh, seeing how beautiful your family is in action is just irreplaceable. We will be sharing a more in-depth blog about her session experience, but one thing that she said really stuck with me.

I’ve felt that realization before. I’ve stared at my family photos and have just been in awe because I did it. I made it. WE made it. We are beautiful, happy, and love each other so deeply. If you’ve felt that before, then you know exactly how that feeling just fills you up and it’s like you begin radiating happiness.

Another thing is that, as moms, we are rarely in the photos we take of our families! Selfies with your kiddos are great, but it’s completely different from the natural and candid photos of you twirling with your daughter. It’s not the same as both yours and your son’s smiles while you toss him in the air. We make sure to get YOU in front of the camera, too.
